
Taylor Swift's highly-anticipated album, The Life of a Showgirl, was the perfect opportunity. Drawing on the cult-like fandom of Swifties, Artemis Ward put forth the idea of an animated social post that teased the various languages available for translation on the new album. Working from only one promotional image, I studied the visuals and noticed subtle Art Deco cues that felt perfect for a kaleidoscopic motion treatment. I concepted and storyboarded alongside their strategists and copywriters, creating a dynamic piece of social content that would later end up mimicking the visual effects in the album’s animated artwork. The final piece was published across Apple Music’s social platforms and was well received by the client, generating almost 30,000 likes.
